Copper Rivets
What is a copper rivet?
A round head copper rivet is a mechanical fastener used in various applications such as construction, designer furniture manufacturing, and architecture.
Where and how to use copper rivets?
These rivets are not suitable for all substrates, especially hollow tubes, as it is necessary to have access to both sides of the rivet to fix it properly. Therefore, their use is recommended for experienced DIYers.
How to fix a manufacturer plate with copper rivets?
Step 1: Preparation
- Verification : Make sure that the manufacturer plate corresponds to the vehicle on which it will be attached.
- Choice of location : Select an accessible and non-removable location on the vehicle, such as the chassis or engine block.
Step 2: Drilling
- Access : Make sure you have access to both sides of the rivet when installing it.
- Drilling : Use a drill with a bit the same diameter as the rivet to drill the frame to the appropriate dimensions, making sure to align the holes with those in the plate.
Step 3: Fixing
- Deburring : Deburr the drilled holes to remove residue.
- Insertion : Place the manufacturer plate in place and insert the rivets into the holes.
- Fixation : Using a hammer and possibly a riveting tool, drive in the rivets. Once the head of the rivet is in contact with the plate, crush the rod with a hammer or press to securely fasten the plate to the support.
Step 4: Finishing
- Verification : Make sure the manufacturer plate is securely attached.
- Cleaning : If necessary, clean off any drilling residue.
POP Rivets
What is a POP rivet?
A POP rivet, also known as a breakstem rivet, is a standard rivet used in applications where there are no special constraints. It is appreciated for its ease of use and the fact that it does not require access to the rear of the part to be fastened.
Advantages of POP Rivets
- Ease of use : No need to access the back of the room.
- Easy assembly : Installed using a simple riveting pliers.

Step 2: Drilling
- Drilling : Use a drill with a bit the same diameter as the POP rivets to drill the chassis to the appropriate dimensions, making sure to align the holes with those in the plate.
- Deburring : Deburr the drilled holes to remove residue.
Step 3: Fixing
- Insertion : Place the build plate in place and insert the POP rivets into the holes.
- Riveting : Using a rivet gun, tighten the POP rivets until the rod begins to deform, holding the plate in position.
- Stem breakage : Continue tightening the rivets until the rod breaks, permanently securing the plate to the chassis.
Step 4: Finishing
- Verification : Make sure the manufacturer plate is securely attached.
- Cleaning : If necessary, clean off any drilling residue.
SIM rivets
What is a SIM rivet?
A SIM rivet, also called a U-type rivet or a false screw rivet, is used to fix all kinds of identification plates. It consists of a single piece with a helical threaded body, which allows it to deform in the support where it is inserted, leaving the round head visible. This type of rivet is ideal for fixing relatively thin parts on different supports.
Advantages of POP Rivets
- Strong fixation : Thread deformation ensures a firm grip.
- Simplicity : Forced into place using a hammer or press.

- Choice of location : Select an accessible and non-removable location on the vehicle, such as the chassis or engine block.
Step 2: Drilling
- Drilling : Use a drill with a bit slightly smaller in diameter than the rivets to ensure a strong fit.
- Deburring : Deburr the drilled holes to remove residue.
Step 3: Fixing
- Insertion : Place the manufacturer plate in place and insert the SIM rivets into the holes.
- Riveting : Using a hammer and possibly a riveting tool, force the rivets into the holes. Once the head of the rivet is in contact with the plate, move on to the next rivet.
- Repetition : Repeat for all necessary rivets.
Step 4: Finishing
- Verification : Make sure the manufacturer plate is securely attached.
- Cleaning : If necessary, clean off any drilling residue.
